August 23, 2010 Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Olive Oil
Small Onion
Leeks and/or Celery
Carrots
3 Garlic Cloves
Chicken
Thyme*
Rosemary*
Basil*
Parsley*
Oregano*
Bay Leaf*
Salt*
Black Pepper*
9 Chicken Bouillon Cubes
9 cups Boiling Water
Homemade Style Egg Pasta
1. Sauté olive oil, chopped onion, diced leaks and/or celery, sliced carrots, and minced garlic. Add diced chicken. Cook chicken thoroughly. Add seasonings*.
2. In a separate pan make chicken broth; add chicken bouillon cubes into boiling water.
3. In separate pan, boil about 2 handfuls of pasta noodles. When noodles are almost done, drain noodles, and place into chicken broth.
4. Add sautéed ingredients into chicken broth.
5. Let noodles finish cooking, simmer, and then serve.

August 21, 2010 Carbonara Sauce with Pasta
1 Egg
1 tbsp. Milk
1 tbsp. Margarine
Ham Slices
4 oz Spaghetti
¼ c. Parmesan Cheese
1 tbsp. Parsley
Garlic Clove
Black Pepper
- Let egg, milk, and margarine stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Cook 4 bacon strips till crisp. Drain bacon on paper towels. Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces. Or, slice ham.
- Meanwhile, cook Fettuccine or Spaghetti pasta. Drain well. Return pasta to saucepan and place over low heat. Toss margarine with pasta. Beat together egg and cream just till combined. Add minced garlic to egg mixture. Pour egg mixture over pasta; toss till well coated. Add bacon or ham, grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese, and snipped parsley; toss to mix. Season with coarsely ground pepper. Transfer to a warm serving dish. Serve immediately. Serves 3 or 4.

August 18, 2010 Banana Bread
Karlyn made banana bread using this recipe:
3/4 c. Margarine
3/4 c. Margarine
1 1/2 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
4 Mashed Bananas
2 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
6 oz Chocolate Chips
1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Pour into greased bread pans.
2. Bake at 350 degrees until knife inserted in the center comes clean.
